ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' men's and women's swimming and diving teams closed out their 2016-17 home schedule battling their rivals Henderson State on Friday night. The men's team were edged out by the Reddies by a final of 128-101 while the women fell by a final of 137-32.
On the men's side, the Tigers opened the meet by taking first and third in the 400 Medley relay.
Alexander Podguzov, Artemii Orekhov,
Brandon Parramore and
Jacob Jones took first while the grouping of Jacob Ragsdale,
Mitchell Lee,
Bryce Davidson and
Mason Youngblood took third. Orekhov and Parramore finished first and second respectively in the men's 200 IM.
Travis Beall took second in the men's 200 Butterfly, while Orekhov and Podguzov scored dominant wins in the 200 Breaststroke and Backstroke respectively. In diving, senior Zack Willis took first on the 3 mtr board and
Seth Fox finished first on the 1 mtr.
On the women's side, Anastasiia Ulianova placed third in the 200 IM. She finished second in the 500 Free with
Susannah Frith taking third.
Emily Mahan and
Kristina Beall finished first and second respectively in the 200 Breaststroke.
The Tigers will now get ready to head to the NSISC Conference Championships in February.
