ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Lady Tigers' basketball team lost to Arkansas Tech by a final score of 78-63. The loss drops the Lady Tigers' record to 9-14 overall and 6-11 in the Great American Conference.
The story of the game for the Lady Tigers was missed free throws. Ouachita got to the free-throw line 26 times, but only shot 57%.
Taylor Bowles was the leading scorer for the Lady Tigers with 15 points.
Madison Brittain also scored in double-digits with 13 points and three made three-pointers.
The Lady Tigers opened the game very slowly, not scoring a field goal for the first seven minutes of the game. They trailed by a score of 16-3 when
Alivia Huell made the first field goal to send the Lady Tigers on a 9-0 run. Ouachita only trailed 16-12 with one minute remaining in the first quarter, but Tech was able to go on a 17-2 run to lead 33-14 with just under five minutes remaining in the first half. The Tigers were never able to bring the lead back to single-digits and Tech ended up winning the game by 15.
The Lady Tigers will travel across the street on Monday, Feb. 13 to face Henderson State. Tip-off will be at 7:30 p.m.
