ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' softball team won their opening game of the regular season over Rogers State by a final score of 3-2. A first inning home-run by
Daniella Brantley drove in three runs and was enough to last the Tigers for the rest of the game.
Macy Nantz earned a complete game win for the Tigers.
Â
The game opened well for Ouachita, with
Kelly Powell and
Macy Wilson getting on base in its first two at-bats. After a sac-fly from
Sarah Johnson,
Daniella Brantley sent a ball flying over the center-field fence to drive in three runs. Ouachita was unable to score any more runs, but a stellar pitching performance from
Macy Nantz, featuring seven strikeouts, helped the Tigers hold their lead.
Â
The Tigers will continue play in the Ronnie Hawkins Invitational for the remainder of the Feb. 3-4 weekend with games against three other teams.
