ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' softball team (16-28, 10-22 GAC) lost both games of a doubleheader against the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers (15-29, 13-19 GAC).
The Tigers lost the first game by a final score of 0-9 and the second by a score of 5-8. Macy Wilson hit a three-run home run in the second game.
The first game did not go well for the Tigers. They were down 2-0 at the end of the first inning and were down 9-0 by the end of the fourth. Macy Nantz was the starting pitcher for the game.
The second game did not start much better for the Tigers. They were down by a score of 6-0 at the end of the third inning, but an unearned run in the fourth gave the Tigers. NWOSU scored two runs in the fifth inning to extend their lead to 8-1, and Ouachita scored 4 runs in the eighth to narrow the final scoreline. Marissa Butler pitched a complete game for the Tigers and struck out six batters.
Ouachita will finish their series in Ava, Okla., tomorrow with a doubleheader. Games begin at 12 and 2 p.m.
