ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' softball team (22-32, 16-26 GAC) split the opening doubleheader of a road series with Oklahoma Baptist (22-29, 14-25 GAC).
The Tigers lost the first game by a final score of 2-3 and won the second game by a score of 8-5.
Ouachita scored first in the first game of the day. Daniella Brantley hit a two-RBI double in the top of the third inning. Bry Flanagan went on to hit two home runs in the game, including a walk-off in the bottom of the seventh, to give Oklahoma Baptist the win.
Marissa Butler pitched a complete game in the first game and struck out five batters.
Ouachita opened the second game hot with a four-run first inning from which Oklahoma Baptist was never able to recover. Macy Wilson and Gabby Gonzalez both picked up two RBI in the first. Oklahoma Baptist scored two in the bottom of the first, but Daniella Brantley hit an RBI double to give the Tigers a 5-2 lead at the end of the second. The two teams traded runs in third and fifth innings, and Ouachita won the game 8-5.
Macy Nantz was the winning pitcher in the second game after relieving Kelsey O'Brien in the third inning. Butler earned her first save of the season. 
The two teams will finish the series with a doubleheader tomorrow, Saturday, April 29. The games will be played at 12 and 2 p.m.
