RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Ouachita Baptist volleyball team (8-3) fell twice Friday at the Arkansas Tech Tournament. The Tigers dropped their opening match of the tournament 3-2 (19-25, 25-16, 25-19, 24-26, 15-11) against St. Edwards (7-3) and finished the day with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 27-25) to Alabama-Huntsville (9-2).
Against St. Edwards,
Adrianna Nolly led Ouachita with 15 kills and six blocks while
Paige Williams and
Tabatha Huckabee both finished with 11 kills apiece.
Stormi Leonard led all players with 50 assists and
Nikki Clay led the team in digs with 17.
As a team, the Tigers closed the match with a .157 hitting percentage, 57 kills, 78 digs, 12 blocks and five aces. In its two set wins, Ouachita finished with a .256 and .227 hitting percentage.
Nolly again led the team in kills, in the second match of the day, as she finished with 12, two ahead of teammates Williams and
Katie Camp. Leonard once more led all players in assists with 39 while Clay continued to rack up digs with 15. Williams and Leonard followed Clay with 11 and 10 digs, respectively.
The Tigers accumulated a .165 hitting percentage against Alabama-Huntsville. The team finished with 45 kills, 61 digs, 10 blocks and two aces.
The Tigers will close out the tournament tomorrow as the team faces Washburn at 11 a.m.
