ARKADELPHIA, Ark – Ouachita sealed their seventh and eighth wins of the season against Union University and Mississippi College. The Tigers surrendered only one set on the day to Union University, ending in four sets 3-1 and 3-0 against Mississippi College.
Head Coach
Allison Frizzell-Kizer had encouraging words for her team saying, "It feels awesome to be on our home floor and start off by protecting our house, especially with four in a row. How we fought at home is what I am more proud of than the win at home. Very proud of
Rileigh Fielder stepping it up as a freshman just like we needed too is wonderful because you never know when we are going to need her to step up and finish a game for us. As for J.J. (
Julianna Mack), she reads well, touches well, serve-receives great and keeps us in system and we need to be in system, so she does that for us." Mack ended the weekend with 62 digs.
Stormi Leonard finished the weekend assisting Ouachita players 165 times and is now 241 assists away from breaking the Great American Conference career assists record.
Adrianna Nolly recorded 71 kills, 21 more than she did last weekend when she was named the Player of the Week for the GAC.
The Tigers will move into conference play against Arkansas Monticello next Tuesday. "We are looking forward to starting conference with the energy that we have had and the fight that we have had in the past two weekends," said Frizzell-Kizer.
