ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita Women's Swim team beats Henderson State for the first time since 2012 with a score of 124-94.
Seniors
Emily Mahan and
Susannah Frith led the charge as the Tigers' hopes quickly became reality as Ouachita brought home individual victories in route to the meet win.
The night began with Ouachita earning points off of two divers
Alyssa Reece (first place) and
Allie Harris (second place).
Camilla Howarth and
Susannah Frith started things off right as they both competed in the 1000 yard freestyle. Howarth finished in second sporting a new season best as Frith put in a third place finish.
Things began to pick up for the Tigers as
Sydney Parker won the next race the 200 yard free. She was not alone in the top three as sophomore
Victoria Kunselman place third breaking her season record by nearly ten seconds.
Freshman
Lilia Clark continued her inaugural campaign with a victory in the 50 yard free style. That was followed up by a 200 IM that saw the Tigers place first and second.
Anastasiia Ulianova broke her season record by putting in a 2:10:02, and
Emily Mahan got within half of a second of breaking her career record with a finish of 2:16:02.
Ouachita did not let up on the gas as they saw the victory in sight. In the 200 butterfly, the Tigers' freshman
Sydney Parker put in her second win of the night, and
Camilla Howarth finished the race in third.
Lilia Clark followed that performace with securing a victory in the 100 yard freestyle.
The Tigers were not done though as Annastasiia Ulianova won the 200 yard back stroke, and freshman
Madison McGhee broke her season record with a third place finish timed at 2:20:26.
The race of the night came during the 500 yard freestyle and allowed the Tigers to build a big enough lead to win the meet.
Sydney Parker secured her third victory of the night as she came back from behind to pass two Reddies and win!
To put the cherry on top
Lilia Clark also added her third win of the day doing so in the 200 yard breaststroke.
Emily Mahan continued her amazing night as she broke her career record in the event with a 2:29:10 and a third place finish. She ended her senior night by anchoring the 400 yard relay which saw
Victoria Kunselman,
Christina Beger,
Madison McGhee and Mahan put in a second place finish.
Coach
Steven Bostick adds another big win to his career record with the Tigers. He has helped this team grow and they will go into the NSISC Championships with a huge boost in confidence. Coach Bostick has been helped all season by Coach
