Tigers Down the Savage Storm 3-2

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita captures their second straight victory taking down the visiting Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm, 3-2.
 
Emily Low led the Tigers in kills with 11 on the day. She was a block away from a double-double as she had nine, three solos and six assisted.
 
Julianna Mack saw her first action at libero this season starting the last four sets at the position. She was vital in the Ouachita win accounting for 25 digs and three serving aces.
 
Katie Camp played well for the Tigers in the win as she connected on nine kills and tallied 16 digs. Temi Fayiga led the team in assists with 24 and also added two aces and a kill.
 
The Tigers started off the match slow, dropping the first set with a score of 25-18. In the second set Ouachita captured an 8-4 lead quickly. They then used a 5-1 run to take the 14-7 lead capped off by a kill from Karli Ferguson. Katie Camp's kill closed out the set for Ouachita tying the match and giving them an 25-19 set win.
 
In the third the Tigers held the lead until the 13-12 mark in the game. That is when the Savage Storm went on an 5-0 run to capture the lead. However, Ouachita never quit going on a 9-2 run led by kills from Rileigh Fielder, Low and Camp. A kill by Tabatha Huckabee gave the Tigers a 25-22 set win.
 
The fourth set was a battle from both teams, but in the end the Savage Storm took the set 25-23. The final set saw the Tigers being aggressive early on. They jumped out to an 10-2 run as they played well offensively and on the defensive side. They won the set 15-4 connecting on five kills with no errors and forcing SEOSU into seven errors.
 
The Tigers move to 6-3 in the Great American Conference on the season. They are back in action on Oct.25 in Weatherford, Okla. to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State.
