ARKADELPHIA, Ark. –
Hector Duron scored two goals on Senior Day against Northeastern State University but fall in overtime 3-2 at Kluck Field.
Duron broke through the 0-0 tie between the Tigers and the Riverhawks in the first half. The goal started with a touch pass from
Ryan Shaughnessy to
Alexis Lara. Lara sent a ball to the foot of a streaking Duron who rocketed it past the goalie giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
The Riverhawks put in two goals, one in the first and one in the earl second. However, on senior day Ouachita showed that they wouldn't quit. Duron this time received a pass from
Ryan Wilson before delivering a game tying goal. The goal pushed the Tigers into a sudden death overtime where NSU scored ending the contest.
Only four Tigers accounted for the 14 shots that Ouachita had on the goalie. Duron led all with five shots with two being on goal.
Abraham Lazo fired in four shots while
David Stankovic had three and
Jakob Cuellar put in two.
Matt Day started the game for the Tigers in goal completing all 91 minutes. He saw 15 shots with five of them being on goal. Day tallied two saves in the last regular season game for Ouachita.
With the finish of the game the Tigers end their season going 4-12-2 on the year. We want to thank seniors
