Commerce, Texas. – Ouachita Women's Basketball team went into battle led by
Eden Crow's 15 points and six assists but fall in the end to Texas A&M Commerce 69-54.
Crow was not the only Tiger that showed out in the matchup as freshman
Makayla Miller had a dominate second half. She ended the game with 14 points and four rebounds for the Tigers.
Madison Brittain continued her quest to reach 1,000 career points putting in 12 on the day. She now sits at 954 career points in the purple and gold.
In the first quarter the Tigers were neck and neck with the Lions. To end the quarter Ouachita went on an 8-2 run led by six points from Crow.
Maija Gertsone led the way for the Tigers in assists as she had seven including a pass to
Eden Crow for the last bucket in the quarter to take a 15-14 lead. The Tigers lead melted away as the Lions went on an 8-0 run to start the second. Ouachita stayed in it though cutting the Commerce lead down to four before the half on made free throws by Britain.
The third quarter was a rough one for the Tigers as they trailed by as many as 22. The roar did not stop though as they were able to trim the lead to 18. Ouachita won the fourth in many ways by their heart and hustle. A
Jakyya Clay jumper cut the Lion lead to 13 with 3:02 left in the contest. The Tigers, however, fell in the end by 15 at 69-54.
The Tigers will return to action on Thursday, Nov. 21 as they travel to Russellville, Ark. to face off against their first Great American Conference foe, Arkansas Tech. The game will start at 5:30 p.m.
