ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Lady Tigers take the fight to Southwestern Oklahoma State but fall in the end, 101-62.
Madison Brittain led the way for the Lady Tigers with 15 points and seven rebounds.
Rylee Lavender added 11 points and five rebounds for Ouachita.
After exchanging buckets with Southwestern at the start of the game, the Lady Tigers would use a 6-0 run to take the 13-9 lead. The game would be tied up at 13 until Ouachita would end the quarter on a 8-2 run, but a last second three would cut the lead to 21-18 headed into the second.
The three ball would keep the Lady Tigers into the game as
Rylee Lavender would give Ouachita the lead back at 24-22. Ouachita would allow Southwestern to take a 32-24 lead before going on a 7-2 run to cut the lead to three at 34-31. With a minute left in the half
Eden Crow's jumper would cut the lead back to three, but the Lady Tigers would be down 43-36 going into the break.
In the second half the Lady Tigers would fall behind by double-digits but would never stop fighting. In the fourth quarter the bench would come alive for Ouachita.
Laura Spradlin would make a layup at the 2:28 mark, and Rachel Wilson would drain a three pointer. With 23 seconds left in the game
Taylor Wells would also knock down a three off of
Jessi Bennett's fourth assist of the night.
The Lady Tigers return to Bill Vining on Thursday, February 28 to face off against East Central at 5:30 PM.
