MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Ouachita Baseball rallies from down 5-0 to defeat Southern Arkansas with a score of 6-5.
The Tigers put up three runs in the top of the ninth innings which was started by a
Pierce Mitchum single. After an
Aaron Studdard walk,
Tyler Riebock singled home Mitchum to cut the Mulerider lead to 5-4.
Louis Steen then tied the game on the next at bat singling home Studdard.
Logan Huneycutt used a sacrifice bunt to score Riebock to give the Tigers the game winning run.
In the bottom of the ninth
Luke Scaggs came to the mound for the Tigers and closed out the victory.
Brandon Matros started the game for the Tigers giving up seven hits and five runs across 5.2 innings of work.
Tommy Foster pitched one third of an inning in relief for the Tigers.
Noah Fowler picked up the win, his fourth of the season, after going two innings not giving up a hit or run.
After falling down 5-0 the Tigers got a run back in the fifth as
Tyler Riebock singled home
Cade McBride. In the seventh they get two more runs as
Louis Steen brought home
Pierce Mitchum and
Chris Willard on a single. The Tigers completed the comeback in the ninth to win the series opener.
The Tigers will face off against the Muleriders in a series ending double header Saturday starting at 2:00 PM.
