ADA,, Okla. – Tiger's use a two run homerun in extra innings to split the double header with East Central.
Louis Steen led the Tigers on the day going 3-8 including two runs batted in and two runs.
Brandon Matros and
Luke Scaggs combined to only allow one run on six hits including eight strikeouts in game one.
For the second game in a row
Aaron Studdard led off the game for the Tigers with a single to left field. He would also steal second base later in the inning, but the Tigers could not get him across the plate. Matros would shut down the bottom of the first inning by getting a strikeout, a ground out and a line-out.
Both the Tigers would put runners on first in second in their respective innings, but neither team would be able to score. Over the next three innings Ouachita would get three more hits including a single by
Louis Steen and a double by
Aaron Studdard.
In the top of the sixth, Ouachita would strike first as
Louis Steen would single to left field. He would score after moving to third on a failed pickoff and then an error on a groundball by
Cade McBride.
Luke Scaggs would enter for Ouachita in the bottom of the sixth and strikeout two batters with the bases loaded.
East Central would score in the bottom of the seventh after a triple and single. Scaggs would pick off the Tiger that singled. He would then get a fly out and pop out to keep East Central to just one run.
In the top of the tenth inning the Tigers would lead off with two strikeouts.
Tyler Riebock would then double through the right side. With Riebock on second,
Louis Steen would blast a two run homerun to left field. In the bottom half of the inning Scaggs would shut the door on the Tigers securing the win.
In the second game
Tyler Riebock would continue to hit well as he went 2-3 including a triple that was almost an inside the park homerun.
Adam Bahloul struck out six in 4.2 innings, but he would allow three runs in the fifth inning. Ouachita would fall to ECU 3-0.
The Tigers will return to action on Saturday at 10:00 AM against East Central in Oklahoma.
