ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Four Tigers end with double digit kills as the Tigers come back from down 2-1 to defeat the Bisons 3-2.
Emily Low and
Katie Camp led the way for the Tigers in the battle. Each of them tallied 14 kills while Camp added in 18 digs. They came up big when Ouachita needed them combining for nine kills in the fifth set helping the Tigers close out the victory.
Senior
Adrianna Nolly and Sophomore
Rileigh Fielder accounted for the other two double digit kills night as Nolly put in 11 as Fielder had 10. Nolly had a massive block for the 14
th point in the fifth set breaking a 13-13 tie.
Setters
Temi Fayiga and
Joni Schneider both captured double-doubles on the night. Fayiga had 32 assists and 10 digs while Schneider had 22 assists and 10 digs.
On the defensive end, Libero
Lexie Castillow secured the season high in digs with 35. Junior
Shannon Hogan captured her career high in digs with 23 in the matchup.
Tabatha Huckabee and
Abby Cagle were also vital in the game coming in clutch for the Tigers. They would account for back to back kills in the fifth set pushing the Tigers to an 8-6 lead.
The Tigers came out fighting in the first set jumping out to a 9-6 lead; however, that lead vanished as the Bisons went on a 15-5 run before closing out the set on a separate 4-0 run. Harding captured the 1-0 set lead behind the 25-17 first set victory.
The second set saw a completely different outcome as the Tigers jumped out to a 9-7 lead. Ouachita turned it on going on an 8-0 run led by
Lexie Castillow who had two aces in the frame. Harding showed some fight, but Camp ended the set, 25-18, on a kill from Fayiga.
Five runs of three or more points dictated the play in the third set. The Bisons finished on top with a 25-18 set victory taking a 2-1 lead in the contest. The Tigers came out on fire in the fourth securing a 20-12 lead on the back of Fielder's 6 kills in the set. Low closed out the set on a kill giving Ouachita 25-20 set win and tying the game at two all.
The fifth set was an instant classic for the Tigers as there were six ties and lead changes in the 15-13 set. Ouachita secured a 9-6 advantage before the Bisons stormed back. Harding went on a 6-0 run to take a 12-9 lead. The Tigers did not look back from there ending the game on a 6-1 run with three kills by Low, two from Camp and a humongous block from Nolly.

The Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Russellville, Ark. to face off against Arkansas Tech at 6:00 p.m.
