ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Freshman Kicker
Gabe Goodman secured the Tigers a 16-14 lead with 1:05 left in the fourth quarter, and
Keandre Evans sealed the win for the Tigers with an interception with 42 seconds left in the contest.
The Tigers defeated Harding in consecutive seasons using late game heroics.
Tucker Swoboda, who caught three passes for 63 yards, drew a pass interference call on fourth and 15 with 2:07 left in the game. Goodman, who made two of his prior three field goals in the game, connected on his longest with a 38 yard attempt.
The defense for Ouachita came to play forcing three turnovers in the game.
Keandre Evans led the Tigers with two interceptions and two tackles.
Hayden Lassiter recorded one takeaway and led the team with eight tackles. Lafoy Smith and
Ty Compton both recorded a sack for Ouachita.
Austin Guymon and
Dameyun McDonald both added seven tackles on the night.
Ouachita used 266 yards of total offense in the game, 107 rushing and 266 passing. Sophomore
Brayden Brazeal connected on 16 of his 20 passes averaging 9.9 yards per competition. Brazeal's favorite target on the night was
Allie Freeman who recorded 11 receptions for 89 yards. The lone touchdown of the game came from
Brockton Brown on a 10 yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
