Box Score 2 ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Tigers Volleyball opens up their season in the Reddie-Tiger Challenge defeating the University of Texas at Tyler 3-1. They suffered their first defeat in the second matchup after going toe to toe with Mississippi College.
Senior
Adrianna Nolly showed out in the first game for the Tigers as she connected on 18 kills on only 33 attacks for a .485 hitting percentage. Ouachita introduced many new faces to the court, two of which were vital in the UT Tyler win. Setter
Temi Fayiga led the team in assists with 29 and libero
Lexie Castillow led Ouachita with 20 digs.
The Tigers started off the first set rocky going down 4-0 to start of the match. However, they would fight back eventually taking a 18-14 lead, their largest of the set. In the second set the Tigers came out hot going on a 14-3 run and eventually taking the set 25-14.
Ouachita would drop the third set after battling back to only trail 23-22. However, in the fourth set the Tigers put the game away scoring the last three points two of which being kills by
Tabatha Huckabee and
Adrianna Nolly.
Nolly continued her dominance in the second game against Mississippi College. She would account for 14 kills for Ouachita.
Katie Camp would put in 10 kills and eight digs to add to the battle against the Choctaws.
The Tigers would drop the first two sets, but the fight had only begun. In the third set the Tigers completely dominated Mississippi College taking the set 25-15. In the fourth set Ouachita would jump out to a large lead before in the end dropping the game 25-23.
