CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Ouachita Tigers (5-7 GAC, 10-12 Overall) took down the Delta State Statesmen (6-6 GSC, 12-10 Overall) on Tuesday 9-5.

Cooper Timmons (1-0) started for the Tigers and pitched three innings. He allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits, a walk, and a strikeout. 
Logan Huneycutt earned the win in the game for six hitless innings with just one walk and seven strikeouts.
 
Ouachita Hitting
 
After trailing 1-0, the Tigers tied the game up with a run of their own in the third inning. 
Simmons Sowell singled to right field to score 
Matt Bryant.
 
In the fourth, the Tiger offense burst to life with five runs. 
Cole Kelly reached on a fielder's choice to score 
CW Schrader and then Sowell singled to second base for two RBI's that scored Kelly and 
Beau Burson. Next up, 
Tyler Riebock singled to left center to score Bryant. He then stole second and Sowell scored on a muffed throw.
 
The Tigers added one more run in the top of the sixth inning and then two more in the ninth inning. In the sixth, Sowell hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Kelly. Both runs scored in the ninth inning on a single to right field by Kelly. Burson and 
Colin McWhorter scored on the hit.
 
Ouachita Highlights
 
	- Logan Huneycutt earned his first win on the mound of the 2020 season, in the longest outing of his career.
 
	- Huneycutt was nearly perfect on the mound in his six innings of work, with only a walk and hit-by-pitch allowed. He also punched out seven batters.
 
	- The Tigers had 10 hits in the game, which is the tenth time this season that Ouachita has finished a game with double-digit hits.
 
	- 7 of 9 starters had a hit in the game.
 
	- Cole Kelly went 2 for 5 with two runs scored, three RBI's, and a strikeout.
 
	- Simmons Sowell went 2 for 3 with a sacrifice fly, a run scored, and four RBI's.
 
	- Tyler Riebock went 2 for 4 with a stolen base and an RBI.
 
	- Matt Bryant went 1 for 3 with two runs scored, two walks, a stolen base, and a strikeout.
