ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Baptist Tiger softball team split the day with Oklahoma Baptist as game one belonged to the Tigers 4-3 and game two was a 4-1 Bison win.
GAME 1: Oklahoma Baptist 3, Ouachita Baptist 4
In comeback fashion, the Tigers picked up its first GAC victory of the 2020 season.
Madison Miller pitched a complete game. She went 7.0 innings, gave up three runs on seven hits, striking out six.
Macy Wilson, Leighton Withers and Callie Jourdan all had multi-hit games. Jourdan led the Tigers with two RBIs.
Oklahoma Baptist drew first blood in the top half of the first then followed it up with two runs in the fourth.
The Tigers never went away as Jillian Jones got the scoring going. Jones launched a solo shot in fifth. Macy Wilson then brought the Tigers within one as she doubled to score Jourdan.
The Tigers completed the comeback in the sixth as Jourdan doubled to score Sarah Tuller and Withers.
Madison Miller got a shutdown inning in the top half of the seventh to send the Tigers into the GAC win column.
GAME 2: Oklahoma Baptist 4, Ouachita Baptist 1
The Tiger bats never got going in the final game of the series.
Nicole Arreola started for the Tigers and went 6.1 innings. She gave up four earned runs on five hits, striking out four.
Macy Wilson, Sloane Precure, Leighton Withers and Jillian Jones all recorded one hit. The lone RBI came off the bat of Jones in the seventh.
Unfortunately, one run in the bottom of the seventh was not enough to complete a comeback. The Bison scored two in the third and two in the fourth.
The Ouachita Tiger softball team finished up the series with a record of 3-19, 1-11 in GAC play, while Oklahoma Baptist climbed to 14-10, 10-2 in conference.
