Reddies Take First Battle of the Ravine of 2021

THE RUNDOWN

In the first cross-town matchup of the 2020-21 men's basketball season, Henderson State defeated Ouachita Baptist 96-67 Monday night at the Duke Wells Center. A pair of junior newcomers led the way for Ouachita, as Deaveon Bankston and DJ Kane combined for 36 points on the night.

After falling behind by 28 at halftime, Ouachita showed life with a 12-4 run to start the second period. However, the Reddies were too much in a 29-point victory.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

- After being outscored by 28 points in the first half, the Tigers were within one point of Henderson State over the final 20 minutes
- Ouachita won the turnover battle for the third game in a row, forcing 21 Reddie turnovers while committing 20 of their own. 
- Freshman Stephfan Tabe made his collegiate debut Monday night.
