BOONE, JORDAN LEAD TIGERS TO FIRST WIN

WICHITA, Kansas – Sophomore Bobby Boone scored two goals, including the game-winner on a penalty kick, and Ebon Jordan had one goal and two assists to give the Ouachita Baptist University men's soccer team its first victory of the season, a 4-3 road win over Newman on Saturday afternoon.

It was the final game of Ouachita's eight-game road stretch. The Tigers (1-6-1, 1-3 GAC/MIAA) will be at home for their next two matches, and six of their next seven.

Boone scored his first two career goals in the Tigers' victory. His game-winner came on a penalty kick late in the match in the 87th minute. His first goal came in the 35th minute, assisted by Jordan to put the Tigers up 3-1 at halftime.

Jordan was also involved in Ouachita's first two goals of the game, assisting David Stankovic's goal to even the score at 1-1 in the 20th minute and

The Tigers went up 2-1 three minutes later on a goal from Jordan, assisted by Brandon Avila.

Newman (0-6-1, 0-1-1 GAC/MIAA) evened up the score at 3-3 with goals in the 64th and 66th minutes.

Ouachita outshot Newman 17-10, including a 9-7 advantage in shots on goal.
