ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University volleyball team opened its weekend of Great American Conference play on Friday at home with a 3-0 loss to Southwestern Oklahoma State.
The Tigers (6-12, 1-5 GAC) kept the Bulldogs (10-6, 5-2 GAC) close in the first set, eventually falling 25-21 after hitting .294 as a team. SWOSU committed four attack errors in the first set, but only had two errors in a 25-14 win in the second set, and zero errors in the third set to win 25-11.
EJ Day led Ouachita with 10 kills and only three errors on 27 swings for a .259 percentage.
Temi Fayiga and
Kellen Church each had 12 assists in the loss.
Lexie Castillow led the back row with nine digs.
Ouachita is back in action on Saturday at home against Northwestern Oklahoma State. First serve is set for 1 p.m. at the Sturgis Center.
