Ouachita Baptist men's tennis picked up its second straight 7-0 win Tuesday, taking down in-state rival Arkansas-Fort Smith at the Fort Smith Athletic Center. Four of the Tigers' six singles victories came in straight sets.Â
Ouachita opened the match with a sweep of doubles.
Francisco Oliveira and
Alex Blanchar picked up a 6-2 win on Court 1,
Tobias Fuerschuss and
Carlos Solorzano edged out a 6-4 win on Court 2, and
Fernando Docters and
Matias Parzajuk won 6-2 on Court 3.
In singles, Oliveira defeated Wian Van Dyk 6-1, 6-4 on Court 1.
Santiago Kearney cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory on Court 2 over Daniel Borrero. Fuerschuss dispatched of Ethan Eddleman7-5, 6-3 on Court 3.Â
The Lions put up a fight on Courts 4 and 5, as  Blanchar needed a tiebreak third set to defeat Nicolas Retamales 5-7, 6-3, 10-7, and Parzajuk came back to defeat Zach Delmonico 1-6, 6-2, 10-6.
Fernando Docters won 6-0, 6-1 over Andrew Anderson on Court 6.
Ouachita is back in action Friday at 1 p.m., taking on Southern Arkansas at Ward Tennis Center.
