Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Tigers Fall to Henderson 71-61

THE RUNDOWN

Ouachita Baptist women's basketball battled back from a large deficit early, but Henderson State held on for a 71-61 victory at Bill Vining Arena on Monday night. Eden Crow's 16 points led the way for the Tigers.

Henderson jumped out to a 20-3 lead in the first seven minutes of the game. The Reddies made 11 of 17 field goal attempts in the first quarter. The deficit remained at 17 at the half, but Ouachita chipped away, outscoring HSU 15-12 in the third quarter and 18-14 in the fourth. The Tigers cut the lead to as little as seven points in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late for the home squad.

Lauren Wright recorded her second double-double in as many games with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

- Ouachita outscored Henderson 52-45 after the first quarter
- Lauren Wright is the first Tiger to start a season with back-to-back double-doubles since Katie Kapler in 2014-15
- Walk-on freshman Haley Day made her collegiate debut Monday, pulling down five rebounds
