Baseball Evens Series with No. 18 Southern Arkansas

THE RUNDOWN

Ouachita Baptist baseball picked up a 7-3 win at No. 18 Southern Arkansas in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday in Magnolia. The Tigers recovered from a 2-0 deficit to score seven of the game's final eight runs. 

The Muleriders scored a pair of unearned runs on a third-inning home run. The Tigers took the lead in the top of the fourth, as Tyler Riebock led off with a home run. Cade McBride picked up the tying RBI with a base hit to left center. Cole Kelly scored the go-ahead run as SAU turned a double play.

Riebock drove in another run with a fifth-inning single. He scored a run in the seventh on Cade Burris' RBI single. Southern Arkansas got a run back in the bottom of the seventh, but the Tigers got two back in the eighth. Simmons Sowell drove in CW Schrader with a sacrifice bunt. Louis Steen, hustling all the way from second, scored on the play as well after the Mulerider catcher dropped the ball on the tag. 

Cooper Timmons finished the game with 2.1 innings of scoreless baseball to earn the save.

- Riebock tied Justin Pennell for second in program history with his 26th career home run
