THE RUNDOWN
Ouachita Baptist softball battled back from an early deficit to defeat Southwestern Oklahoma State 5-4 in the second game of Friday's doubleheader. After falling behind 3-0 in the top of the first, the Tigers tied the game in the bottom of the frame. A pair of sixth-inning runs proved to be just enough.
After the Bulldogs put three runs on the board on the strength of three hits and an error, the Tigers went to work on offense.
Sloane Precure doubled home
Hope Waid and
Heather Brown and scored two batters later on
Callie Jourdan's single.Â
The score remained tied until the sixth, when Brown plated
Kellen Church with a single and came around to score an unearned run as the Bulldog center fielder dropped a pop fly.Â
SWOSU threatened in the seventh inning, scoring an unearned run before
Nikki Schneider coaxed a flyout to wrap up a complete-game victory.
