THE RUNDOWN

Ouachita Baptist baseball fell behind 3-0 in the first inning but came back to win 5-3 in the rubber match of a three-game series at Weevil Field. Louis Steen hit his third home run of the series and drove in three runs. Cooper Timmons pitched all seven innings to earn the victory on the mound. 

Facing a 3-0 deficit, the Tigers got a run back on Simmons Sowell's sacrifice fly in the second inning. Steen doubled home a run and scored on a wild pitch in the third inning to tie the game.

The score remained knotted until the fifth inning. With one out and CW Schrader on first, Steen fouled off two pitches before depositing the third over the left field fence.

That run stood strong, as Timmons escaped a bases-loaded, nobody out jam in the fifth and retired nine of the last 10 batters he faced to pick up the win. He finished with eight strikeouts and two walks.
