TIGERS WRAP UP TIGER-REDDIE INVITATIONAL

ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University volleyball team concluded its participation in the Tiger-Reddie Invite on Saturday with a four-set loss to Mississippi College.

Final game scores were 19-25, 25-12, 15-25, and 27-29.

After dropping behind one game, the Tigers roared back to win the second set convincingly thanks in part to a .421 team hitting percentage during and seven of the team's 13 total service aces. It was a season-high for the Tigers in total aces.

The Choctaws responded with a convincing victory of their own in the third set and held as much as an eight-point lead in the fourth set before the Tigers rallied off four straight points to climb back in the game.

The last half of the fourth set was back-and-forth. The Tigers held the game point advantage twice, but the Choctaws scored three straight points at the end to seal the match.

EJ Day paced the Tigers offensively with 17 points, including 13 kills, three service aces, and two block assists. Emily Low followed with 13 points, 11 of which coming on kills.

Kellen Church aided the offensive attack with 21 assists, while also adding three service aces. Lexie Castillow paced the defense with 20 digs.

The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday, September 21 on the road for a Great American Conference match against Harding. First serve is 6 p.m. in Searcy.
