ARKADELPHIA – Ouachita Volleyball picked up its third-straight win in as many days in a 3-0 victory over the Austin College Kangaroos.
The set scores were 25-18, 29-27 and 25-23.
Ouachita led for the majority of the first two sets but had to make a comeback in the third. The Tigers trailed from the 5-4 point of the set all the way to the 21-21 point when Ouachita tied it up and eventually took the lead to earn the sweep.
Ouachita out hit Austin College .295 to .182 and led in almost every statistical category.
The Tigers were led offensively by
Kayla Steinmeyer who racked up 14 kills on a .444 hitting percentage.
Haley Fairchild was next with eight kills on a .667 percentage.
Steinmeyer and Fairchild were the two Tigers that also reached double-digit points in the match, earning 14.5 and 10 respectively.
Kellen Church was the Ouachita assist leader with 25.
Courtney Hanson followed with 12 of her own. Church also recorded three aces for the match lead.
Lexie Castillow led the defense with 13 digs. Castillow was the only Tiger with double-digit digs.
Haley Fairchild led the front row with 4 blocks.
Ouachita Volleyball will have a few days off before heading to Weatherford, Oklahoma to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State next Thursday, October 13.
