SHAWNEE, Oklahoma – Ouachita Baptist University Volleyball had its hot streak come to an end on Friday night as it fell to the top-seeded Harding Bisons 3-0 in the semifinals of the 2022 Great American Conference Championship Tournament.
The set scores were 23-25, 20-25 and 15-15.
Ouachita kept it close in sets one and two, trading leads with the one-loss Bisons, but ultimately could not get past a couple of late runs.
Leading the Tiger offense was
Kayla Steinmeyer and
Emily Adams who each put up six kills.
Riley Braziel was next with five.
Braziel led the Tigers in points with eight. She was followed by Adams with 7.5 and Steinmeyer with 6.5.
Courtney Hanson had 16 assists on the night, the only Tiger to reach double digits.
Haley Fairchild led with four blocks on the front line.
Karli Ferguson was right behind with three of her own.
Courtney Hanson secured another double-double, adding a team-high 14 digs on the defensive side to go with her 16 assists.
Lexie Castillow was next in digs with 12, and
Riley Braziel had 11 to round out the Tigers with double-digit digs.
The Tigers end their season 19-12 overall and 10-6 in conference, their best record since 2018.
Lexie Castillow ends her time at Ouachita with 2,023 digs and a place in the Ouachita record books, sitting at third all-time.
