TIGERS SEEK 10TH WIN SATURDAY AT SOUTHEASTERN

ARKADELPHIA – The 9-0 Ouachita Baptist University football team is on the road this Saturday, November 5 to take on the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Savage Storm.

Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Paul Laird Field in Durant, Oklahoma. It is the final game away from Arkadelphia for the 2022 regular season. The Tigers cross the street to take on Henderson State next Saturday (November 12).

This Saturday's game against Southeastern (6-3) carries a lot of weight for the Tigers in their chase for the outright Great American Conference championship and their pursuit of the program's fifth NCAA playoffs appearance.

Last season, both were taken away by the Savage Storm, which upset then-ranked No. 5 Ouachita in Arkadelphia by a final score of 35-21 in the second-to-last game of the season.

Ouachita, the No. 4/3 team in the nation, clinched at least a share of the 2022 GAC championship last Thursday night at home in a 28-18 come-from-behind victory over East Central. It is the sixth GAC championship for the Tigers in the 11-year history of the league. It didn't come easy, however, as East Central took an 18-14 lead with 6:50 remaining and allowed Ouachita to get a double-digit win after throwing two interceptions late in the game.

Southeastern's season was looking gloomy at the midway point with a 2-3 record, but the Storm has since rattled off four consecutive victories behind a high-powered offensive attack. Last week, Southeastern earned a 48-20 road win over Arkansas-Monticello.

This Saturday's game will feature one of the best rushing teams in the country in Ouachita and one of the best passing teams in the country in Southeastern.

The game will be broadcast live on the Ouachita Football Radio Network on affiliate stations across the state of Arkansas with the pregame show taking the air at 1 p.m. Live stats and live video will be provided by Southeastern. Links can be found at www.OBUtigers.com/coverage.
