MAGNOLIA, Arkansas – The Ouachita Baptist University volleyball team closed out the 2022 regular season on a high note on Thursday, taking down Southern Arkansas on the road by a final score of 3-1.
With the win, the Tigers (18-11, 10-6 GAC) will either be the No. 4 or No. 5 seed in next week's Great American Conference Championship Tournament, which will be held in Shawnee, Oklahoma at FireLake Arena November 10-12.
Thursday night's match started out with a 25-18 win for the Muleriders in the first set. Ouachita then rallied for three in a row by scores of 25-19, 25-21, and 25-15.
Four Tigers reached double-digits offensively, led by
Kayla Steinmeyer with 16.
Riley Braziel followed with a double-double of 15 kills and a team-high 28 digs.
Haley Fairchild added 11 kills and a team-high .333 hitting percentage.
Emily Adams had 10 kills.
Lexie Castillow joined Braziel in the 20-dig club for the match with 22.
Courtney Hanson added 12 digs to go along with a match-high 47 assists.
Ouachita closed out the regular season winning eight of its final 10 matches.
