ARKADELPHIA – Henderson State rallied in the final two minutes to beat the Ouachita Baptist University men's basketball team by a score of 57-49 on Monday in front of a packed house at Bill Vining Arena.
The Tigers led for most of the second half, and held their biggest lead of eight at the 16:56 mark.
HSU's rally included an 12-0 run that started with 2:21 remaining on the clock to put the Reddies up by nine with 38 seconds remaining. Ouachita cut it to six, but the Reddies made a pair of free throws to keep the Tigers at bay. Ouachita missed on four scoring chances in the final 20 seconds.
Tylar Haynes led the Tigers with 14 points.
Ma'Darius Hobson added 10 points. Freshman
Kobe Dunlap had a career-night with nine points after connecting on three three-pointers.
The Tigers host the western Oklahoma teams this weekend, starting with Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Vining Arena.
