The Tigers blew past Southern Arkansas 3-0 to earn their first GAC victory of the season.
The set scores were 25-15, 25-9 and 25-14.
Ouachita only trailed once throughout the entire match, which was at the start of set number two with SAU leading 2-1. The Tigers then went on a 10-0 run and never looked back.
The Tiger offense was led by
Riley Braziel with 16 kills and a .636 hitting percentage, both of which were career-highs.
Kayla Steinmeyer was next with 10 kills and a .533 hitting percentage. As a whole, the Tigers hit .398 against the Muleriders, their second-highest percentage of the season.Â
Braziel also racked up six aces in the match, which is the most by a Tiger in a single match since Katie Camp also recorded six against LeMoyne-Owen in 2018.
Courtney Hanson led all setters with 31 assists on the night along with two aces of her own.
Two Tigers recorded double-digit digs to lead the defense;
Lexie Castillow had 19 and
Courtney Hanson had 10.
Ouachita Volleyball will head across the street next week to take on rival Henderson State on Tuesday.
