CONWAY, Arkansas – The Ouachita Baptist University men's swimming & diving team earned a win in its first duel meet of the season, taking down Hendrix College on the road on Thursday night by a final score of 140-81.
"It's great to start the season 1-0 in head-to-head competition," said head coach
Steven Bostick. "Many of our seniors swam off events giving the freshmen a chance to step up on relays and individual swims. Hendrix has a very fast pool and is well coached. To leave with several athletes getting their first collegiate wins is exciting. Coach (Logan) Andrews had the divers firing on all cylinders. It's been amazing to see how fast they have developed in a little over a month. We are looking forward to Loyola on Saturday."
The Tigersharks earned wins in nine of 13 events, highlighted by taking first, second, and third place in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle.
In the 200-yard freestyle,
Blayz Hood (1:51.01),
Logan Langley (1:57.11), and
Jackson McCaleb (1:59.82) swept the top three spots. In the 500-yard freestyle, it was
Hayden Jestes (5:06.70),
