CONWAY, Arkansas – The Ouachita Baptist University women's swimming & diving team earned a win in its first duel meet of the season, taking down Hendrix College on the road on Thursday night by a final score of 158-73.
"It's great to start the season 1-0 in head-to-head competition," said head coach
Steven Bostick. "Many of our seniors swam off events giving the freshmen a chance to step up on relays and individual swims. Hendrix has a very fast pool and is well coached. To leave with several athletes getting their first collegiate wins is exciting. Coach (Logan) Andrews had the divers firing on all cylinders. It's been amazing to see how fast they have developed in a little over a month. We are looking forward to Loyola on Saturday."
The Tigersharks earned wins in 10 of the 13 events, highlighted by seven events with first and second place finishers and two events with the top three.
Ouachita opened the meet with two straight wins in the 400-yard medley relay and the 1,000-yard freestyle, and closed the event with three straight wins in the three-meter diving, 100-yard backstroke, and the 200-yard freestyle relay.
