DURANT, Oklahoma – The Ouachita Baptist University men's basketball team dropped the first game of their weekend in Oklahoma to the Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm by a score of 92-66
Ouachita (8-8, 6-6 GAC) started the game off slow, and Southeastern (11-6, 8-4 GAC) came out hot. The Tigers did make the first basket of the game on a jumper from
Ma'Darius Hobson. But that turned out to be their only lead of the game as the Tigers quickly found themselves looking down a double-digit deficit three minutes later. Ouachita managed to chip away at the Storm's lead, bringing it down to single digits twice, but were unable to keep Southeastern from answering and the Tigers went into halftime down 28-44.
The second half went similarly to the first for the Tigers. Southeastern came out shooting lights out again, shooting nearly 60 percent in the second half. Ouachita was able to put together a few runs to try to bring down SOSU's lead, but the Savage Storm pulled away and brought about the final score of 92-66.
Four Tigers recorded double digit points in tonight's contest:
Ma'Darius Hobson had 14,
Reggie Martin scored 13,
Tylar Haynes put up 12 and
LaQuan Butler Jr. had 11.
Jared Adams once again led the team with eight rebounds.
The Tigers will look to bounce back Saturday, January 28 as they take on East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.
