ARKADELPHIA, Arkansas – The Ouachita men's swimming and diving team took down the 21st ranked Statesmen of Delta State University by a score of 161.5 to 137.5 Friday afternoon at Waggoner Pool.
This was the men's first win against Delta State since 2011.
The Tigershark men won nine total events.
Tyler Andruss won the men's 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:43.92. Andruss also won the men's 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:44.54.
Elijah Christenson won the men's 100 Butterfly with a time of 51.83 and won the men's 200 Butterfly with a time of 1:54.27.
Jeff McCoy won the men's 200 Backstroke with a time of 1:55.28 and won the men's 200 Individual Medley with a time of 1:56.85.
Sam Ragsdell won the men's 500 Freestyle with a time of 21.46 and won the men's 100 Freestyle with a time of 46.99.
The men's 400 Freestyle Relay squad of
Sam Ragsdell, Ian Redman,
David Ware and
James Savarese won with a time of 3:09.57.
The Tigersharks also had 15 swimmers finish either second or third to help lift Ouachita to the win over the Statesmen.
Next up, the Tigersharks will take a short road trip across the street to take on the Henderson State Reddies on Friday, October 27.
