ARKADELPHIA – One foul was the difference in the outcome of the game as Ouachita's women's soccer team defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State by a final score of 1-0 on Saturday at home on Senior Day.
The Tigers scored the only goal of the game with 10 minutes remaining in the first half on a penalty kick goal from
Jamie Fowler after
Reese Brown was fouled inside the box. It was Fowler's team-leading fifth goal of the season and 21st of her career.
The win moves Ouachita to 8-1-6 overall and 5-1-3 in GAC games, giving the Tigers now a four-point lead for first place in the conference standings with three games remaining in the regular season. SWOSU drops to 3-9-3 and 3-4-2.
Overall for the game, the Tigers held a 14-8 lead in total shots and a 4-3 lead in shots on frame.
Michele Snow recorded three saves in what ended up as her ninth shutout of the season and 25th of her career.

The Tigers are back in action next Wednesday, October 25 at home against Southern Nazarene. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at Kluck Field.
