BETHANY, Oklahoma – Five different players scored at least one touchdown to lead the 14th-ranked Ouachita Baptist University football team to a 49-28 road win over Southern Nazarene on Thursday night.
The Tigers (8-1) scored touchdowns on their first four offensive drives, all from different players.
Kendel Givens opened the scoring with a three-yard rushing touchdown at the 5:55 mark of the first quarter.
Jeremiah Turner scored on a 22-yard pass from
Riley Harms at the 13:36 mark of the second quarter.
Carter McElhany scored on a 40-yard pass from Harms at the 9:47 mark of the second. Givens found the endzone again with 5:31 remaining before halftime on one-yard score.
The Tigers went to backup quarterback
Eli Livingston for all three of their scores in the second half, the first coming on an eight-yard pass to
Garrison Jackson at the 6:09 mark of the third quarter. Livingston used his legs to score the final two touchdowns, the first a 21-yard run as time expired in the third and the second an 11-yard score with 7:41 mark of the fourth.
Riley Harms finished the game 16-for-22 through the air for 274 yards and two touchdowns. He has now tied the school record for passing touchdowns in a single season with 21. Livingston finished 2-for-2 for 38 yards.
Kendel Givens also completed a pass for 27 yards.
Connor Flannigan had eight receptions for a career-high 149 yards in the win.
Carter McElhany had three catches for 89 yards.
Kendel Givens recorded at least 100 rushing yards for the fifth time this season, this time 107 yards on 24 carries.
Trey Proctor paced the Tiger defense with 10 tackles.
SNU quarterback Gage Porter kept the Crimson Storm (4-5) in the game with 372 yards of total offense, including 192 rushing yards. However, the Ouachita defense held SNU to 3-for-11 on third down attempts to force five punts. Two other SNU drives ended on interceptions by Ouachita's

The Tigers are at home for the final two games of the 2023 regular season, including next Saturday, November 4 against Oklahoma Baptist. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Cliff Harris Stadium.
