Box Score SHAWNEE, Oklahoma – The Ouachita women's soccer team made up for its only two losses of the season with a 2-0 win over Oklahoma Baptist on Sunday in the finals of the Great American Conference Championship Tournament.
It is the third GAC title for the Tigers, the last coming in the Spring of 2021, also claimed with a win over Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee. Ouachita now earns an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament, which starts either Thursday or Friday, November 16 or 17. The NCAA will host a selection show on Monday at 5:30 p.m. central time at ncaa.com.
Ouachita bookended Sunday's contest with an early goal just five minutes in and then finalized the scoring in the 83rd minute.
The first goal was scored by
Gracen Turner, assisted by
Sophia Valencia. The second was scored by
Madi Vana, assisted by
Jamie Fowler.
Michele Snow collected nine saves and kept the Bison scoreless on 17 total shots. It was her GAC-leading 11th shutout of the season.
With the win, Ouachita improves to 11-2-7. Oklahoma Baptist finishes its season at 9-9-2.
The Tigers earned five GAC All-Tournament Team selections, led by tournament MVP
Josilyn Kispert, who had assists in both wins. Other Ouachita honorees included

Allison Reece, and
Sophia Valencia.
