HOT SPRINGS, Arkansas – The Ouachita volleyball team has earned the No. 7 seed in the Great American Conference Championship Tournament with starts this Thursday, November 9 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
 
Ouachita (17-14, 9-7 GAC) will face the No. 2 seed Oklahoma Baptist (19-8, 13-3 GAC) this Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in the opening round. The Tigers and Bison only met once this season on October 19 with Ouachita winning 3-1 in Arkadelphia.
 
Ouachita volleyball finished the regular season 17-14 overall and 9-7 in GAC play. The Tigers have been on a hot streak, winning six out of their last seven matches to secure back-to-back winning seasons. This marks the second straight season for Ouachita to make the GAC tournament and the fifth time since head coach Allison Frizzell-Kizer took over the program in 2018.
 
The Tigers find themselves at the top of the GAC in five statistical categories for the regular season, leading the conference in hitting percentage (.229), assists (1271), kills (1445), points (1803), and aces (196).
 
Several Tigers can also be found on the individual leaderboards for the GAC. Courtney Hanson leads the conference in assists with 1090 and assists per set with 9.48. Riley Braziel ranks third in aces with 40 and aces per set (0.40). Hanson has recorded 40 aces on the season to tie with Braziel for third.
 
Three Tigers rank in the top 10 for hitting percentage: Haley Fairchild is fourth in the GAC with a .315 percentage on the season. She is followed by Emily Adams in fifth (.306) and Leah Garnder in sixth (.302). Avery Jauz ranks fifth in the GAC in digs with 460 and ninth in digs per set with 4.18.
 
The All-GAC teams and special awards will be announced Wednesday.
