TOPEKA, Kansas – The Ouachita women's soccer team wrapped up the 2023 season on Friday night with a 1-0 loss in overtime to No. 1 seed and tournament host Washburn in the first round of the NCAA Central Region Tournament.
The Tigers (11-3-7) were on the defensive for most of the game, but kept the Ichabods (17-3-1) out of the net in the first 90 minutes. It wasn't until the eighth minute of the first overtime period for Washburn to finally get through.
Washburn ended up with a 19-7 lead in total shots and a 10-5 lead in shots on frame. The Ichabods also held an 11-3 lead in corner kicks.
Michele Snow logged nine saves in the game and finishes up her career ranked third all-time at Ouachita with a total of 342.
The Tigers finish up the program's sixth consecutive winning season, which was highlighted by the Great American Conference Tournament Championship and the first NCAA tournament appearance since 2007.
