ARKADELPHIA – The 12th-ranked Ouachita Baptist University football team is back in action this Saturday, November 4 at home against Oklahoma Baptist University.
Saturday's kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Cliff Harris Stadium. Gates will open at least two hours prior to kickoff. Tickets purchased online can be claimed at the will call window.
The game can be heard live on the Ouachita Football Network on radio affiliates across the state of Arkansas starting at noon with the pregame show. The Tigers will honor 11 seniors prior to kickoff at approximately 12:40 p.m. This year's senior class includes kicker
Gabe Goodman, safety
Dhante Gibson, linebacker
Trey Proctor, linebacker
Dawson Miller, linebacker
Cole Turner, fullback
Brock Howard, tight end
Josh Watson, offensive lineman Nate Turner, offensive lineman
Jarvis Gulley, offensive lineman Zac Henson, and punter
Joe Couch. Including the longest-tenured Tiger, Nate Turner, who has been a part of the program since 2018, this group of seniors has collectively been a part of three conference championships, three NCAA playoff appearances, three undefeated regular seasons, and a combined record of 51-6.
Ouachita enters the game ranked 12th nationally in the latest American Football Coaches Association Top 25 poll with a record of 8-1 following last Thursday night's 49-28 road win over Southern Nazarene. Regionally, the Tigers are ranked seventh and will likely need to win the final two games of the regular season, which are both against winning teams, to earn a spot in the playoffs.
Oklahoma Baptist is 6-3 with a three-game win streak entering Saturday's game against Ouachita. The Bison are having one of the best turnaround seasons in the nation after finishing last in the GAC in 2022 with a final record of 1-10. Most recently in OKB's win streak is a 28-7 win at home over Arkansas-Monticello last Saturday.
Ouachita is 9-2-1 all-time against Oklahoma Baptist. The Tigers have won eight in a row over the Bison, including all seven matchups of the Great American Conference era.
