ARKADELPHIA – Eight student-athletes from the Ouachita football team have been selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for the 2023 season.
Ouachita's honorees include junior receiver
Connor Flannigan, sophomore cornerback
Mario Ganter, Jr., junior running back
Kendel Givens, graduate student quarterback
Riley Harms, senior offensive lineman
Zacary Henson, sophomore kicker
Dax Jaggers, senior linebacker
Dawson Miller, and sophomore offensive lineman
Dylan Horton.
Flannigan, Givens, Harms, Henson, and Miller are all now two-time honorees for the CSC Academic All-District Team, which is selected based on combined academic and athletic performance. Eligible student-athletes are those that are starters or significant reserves and carry at least a 3.5 cumulative grade points average.
All are now eligible for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced in January. Flannigan and Givens both made the Academic All-America team last year. Harms was a semifinalist this year for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which is college football's premier scholar athlete award.
All eight honorees helped the Tigers capture the program's 15th consecutive winning season with a final record of 9-2 this past fall.
