CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Ouachita Baptist University senior Johnny Green wrapped up his postseason run on Saturday with a fifth-place finish at the 2023 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships.

Green finished the 2022-23 season with All-America honors after posting a 24-5 record. The Allen, Texas native is Ouachita's first All-American in wrestling since 2018.

After going 2-0 on Friday in the first two rounds, Green opened up on Saturday with a 6-3 loss to Central Oklahoma's Shawn Streck in the national semifinals and then fell to Minnesota State's Darrell Mason by a score of 2-0 in the third-place bracket.

The loss to Mason placed Green in the fifth-place match, where he earned a 2-1 win over Lander's Juan Edmond-Holmes to wrap up the year.
