ARKADELPHIA – In a battle of two undefeated teams, neither team budged on Saturday as Ouachita and Texas Woman's finished in a scoreless draw at Kluck Field in the Tigers' final non-conference game of the season.
The Tigers move to 3-0-3 following the tie, and TWU moves to 5-0-1.
TWU held a 17-5 advantage in total shots, but just a slim 5-3 lead in shots on goal. The Pioneers held possession for 60 percent of Saturday's game.
Ouachita's shots were scattered among five different players. The last scoring chance for Ouachita came in the 81st minute when
Amerie Thomas sent a long shot within reach of the TWU goalkeeper.
Paige Owens and
Sydni Perry also had shots on frame in the second period. TWU held Ouachita without a shot on goal in the first 45 minutes.
Michele Snow came up with five saves for the Tigers in her third complete game shutout of the season and 19th of her career.
The Tigers open Great American Conference play next Wednesday, September 20 at home against Harding. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
