ARKADELPHIA – The eighth-ranked Ouachita Baptist University football team will play at home for the first time of the 2023 season this Saturday, September 9 when it hosts Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. this Saturday at Cliff Harris Stadium in Arkadelphia. The game can be heard on the Ouachita Football Network on affiliate stations across the state of Arkansas, originating on KARN-FM 102.9 in Little Rock. The Ouachita Sports Digital Network will broadcast the game live on YouTube for free. Links to live video, live audio, and live statistics can be accessed at www.OBUtigers.com/coverage.

General admission tickets are $8 and can be purchased at the ticket booths near the main entrance of the stadium at least two hours prior to kickoff. Tickets that have already been purchased online can be claimed at the will call window.

The Tigers opened the 2023 season last Thursday, August 31 with a 38-14 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State on the road in Weatherford. It was the 16th straight season for Ouachita to win its season opener.

This Saturday, the Tigers look to remain undefeated in home openers since the facility was rebuilt as Cliff Harris Stadium in 2014 with an 8-0 record during that span. Overall, Ouachita carries a streak of 15 consecutive wins in home openers, including last season's 45-0 win over Southern Nazarene.

Last week against SWOSU, the Tigers turned in the best defensive performance in the GAC and the second-best offensive performance by out-gaining the Bulldogs 436-196 in total offense yards.

The Rangers opened their 2023 season last Thursday at home with a 49-24 loss to Arkansas-Monticello. NWOSU is led by first-year head coach Ronnie Jones, who was an All-America receiver for the Rangers in the late 1970s and has since been a journeyman with coaching stops in the NFL, NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NAIA, and high school ranks. NWOSU was out-gained by UAM in last Thursday's game 500-295. It was the program's sixth consecutive loss dating back to the final five weeks of the 2022 season.
