ARKADELPHIA – Five different players scored a goal to lead Ouachita women's soccer to a 5-1 victory over Union on Thursday at home.
Four of Ouachita's goals came in the second half after
Ashton Inman was responsible for the only first-half goal, coming in the 13th minute off a free kick from
Sydni Perry.
Abbey Moore drew a foul inside the box in the first few minutes of the second half and scored on a penalty kick goal to put the Tigers up 2-0.
In the 57th minute,
Sydni Perry took advantage of a deflected shot by
Paige Owens to collect a rebound goal.
The fourth goal came in the 65th minute from freshman
Reese Brown after
Jamie Fowler's pass bounced off a Union defender to set up the score.
Ouachita's final goal came in the 73rd minute from
Gracen Turner from the assist of
Isabella Savattere.
The Bulldogs avoided the shutout with a goal in the 87th minute.
Both teams emptied their respective benches in Thursday's game. A total of 27 Tigers players saw at least five minutes of playing time. The Tigers outshot the Bulldogs 28-11, including a 17-3 advantage in shots on goal.
