ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita men's soccer team earned a 1-0 shutout victory over Newman on Saturday at home.
Saturday's victory marks the Tigers' first shutout of the season and first shutout victory since the spring 2021 season.
The game-winner came in the 25th minute when
Grant Isbell found
Alexis Murillo streaking down the middle of the field for his team-high fifth goal of the season. It was Isbell's second assist this season and fourth of his career.
The Tiger defense and goalkeeper
Dillon Staal kept the Jets out of the net on 17 total shots and eight shots on frame. Ouachita finished with seven shots total and three on goal.
Ouachita is back in action next Thursday and Saturday at home with conference games against Harding and Northeastern State.
